SHUTDOWN UPDATE — SEPTEMBER 1, 2026

An important update for AFGE Local 1260 members:

The House has passed legislation extending federal funding through December 11, 2026, following previous Senate approval. The measure now heads to the President for signature.

For our members, including TSOs, this means federal agencies remain funded for now, paychecks continue, and the immediate threat of a September 30 government shutdown is avoided.

However, this is not the end of the funding debate. Congress will still need to act on additional funding legislation before December 11 to prevent another potential disruption.

AFGE continues advocating for federal employees, working to prevent unnecessary shutdowns and missed paychecks, and tracking congressional actions that could affect our workforce.
